Group Details
Group Structure
Advanced:
Current technique is expected to be excellent. This includes basic and intermediate kicks, strikes, throws and falls. As well as basic and intermediate combinations of all kinds. It also includes sparing of two kinds - 1.Quick and light with control, and 2.Medium contact.
The Advanced level at Kula is both wide and broad. Our roots draw and integrate important tools from each of the primary oriental martial art lineages: from the Chinese we take Tai Chi and Hung Gar Kung Fu; From Korea we take pre-sport TaeKwonDo and Hapkido; and from Okinawa/Japan we take Shorin Ryu Karate and Judo / Jiu Jitsu. We move from soft and circular technique to hard and linear. From subtlety to power and back.
Intermediate:
This group is for the serious martial artist who regularly works above their level.
Training will include working on delivery of power with precision and control.
Continue development of the famous Okinawan Karate form Knol Hai. Practical one steps, Hapkido one steps and Tightening way will be introduced.
Every class will train in falling both soft rolls and Judo breakfalls, including throwing and receiving falls.
Along with the physical training, there are two important conceptual tools that will be reinforced:
(1) The mind and focus
(2) The heart and internal discipline
